Students learn computer terminology and operation
in preparation for advanced applications courses. Extensive use of microcomputers
in a hands-on learning environment. Topics include hardware, software, word
processing, and social issues related to computer-based technologies.

Class Participation/Readings/Attendance: Readings will be assigned. They will be discussed in class. It is important that you are present to share your views. Due to the hands-on nature of the class and the various levels of technology skills of the participants, student mentoring is encouraged. It is important that you are present to share your expertise. |

Assignments: Assignments are due at the beginning of class unless otherwise stated. Instructor reserves the right to deduct points from assignments turned in late. The Microsoft Office Suite will be used extensively in class and for homework assignments. |

Email: Some assignments will require students to email responses or attachments. All students must have an email account and access to the Internet outside of ITEC 601 class time. |
