Class 1	Overview/Introductions   Basics of Word Processing Draw Tools, Clip Art and graphics, Blogs	Readings for 2nd class:  Copyright /AUP Be prepared to discuss copyright issues and AUPs  in class. Visit YouthLearn.org and read their An Introduction to Inquiry-based Learning , How to Develop an Inquiry Project , and The Art of Asking Good Questions. Word process a one page paper on your reflections from the readings. Turn in a hard copy at the beginning of Class 2. Be prepared to discus your reflections in class.
Class 2	Small group discussions: Inquiry-Based Learning Large group discussion: AUPs and Copyright  Word Processing Continued   Tables Rubrics: Rubistar Create a rubric for a project you are doing with your students, for a project in another Ed. class, or for use with a future class. Use any curricular theme or the topic you chose for your search engine assignment.  Turn in hard copy of rubric at the end of class.	Readings for 3rd class:  Assessment - Search Engines How Search Engines Work  and The Major Search Engines and Directories  Select a single topic or theme for a curriculum project.  Choose three search engines that you don't regularly use.  Do a search, using the same question or query for each engine, i.e. Native Americans or the Navajo.   Create a table that shows the results for each engine.  Have one of the table’s columns explain which engine or engines you would recommend your students use and why. Assistive Technologies Visit The George Lucas Educational Foundation's Edutopia website. Class 3	Small group discussions: With partner, discuss your findings from your search engine comparisons.  Allow 5 minutes for each group.  Large group discussion: Assistive Technologies Read the following articles Search Engine Math  Kids Search Engines  Using the same topic you used for your comparison assignment, apply the techniques mentioned in Search Engine Math Introduction to PowerPoint	Internet Safety & Educational Websites Readings on Internet Safety found on the class Resources . Take notes from the readings on Internet Safety.  Bring your notes to class.  Notes will be used to create, in class, a PowerPoint presentation.  Remember to keep a record of your sources as you must cite your sources in your PowerPoint presentation.   Educational Websites Find five (5) educational Websites in a content area or your subject area. Create a word document that includes: the website name, the URL, and a Fifty (50) word description of each site. EXAMPLE:   Assitive Technology: Enabling Dreams http://www.edutopia.org/php/article.php?id=Art_1241 This article and the accompanying ten-minute video on this webpage demonstrate various technologies that are available to assist our students with special needs. The page also links to the articles Assistive Technology Success Stories and Assistive Technology Enhances Learning for All. Bring three (3) print outs* of the document to next class. *These will be shared with your classmates so everyone can benefit from your research.
Class 4	PowerPoint & Multimedia tools continued: Complete PowerPoint presentation   Educational Websites	Readings for 5th Class: Learning Theories Visit Funderstanding and choose three of the list learning theories listed. Be prepared to discuss the Learning theories next class.
